In a recent interview with Mashable India, actor Arshad Warsi shared his thoughts on Jolly LLB 2’s script, his reasons for stepping away, and what fans can expect from his collaboration with Akshay Kumar in Jolly LLB 3. Warsi, who starred in the original Jolly LLB, revealed that he wasn’t fond of the second film’s script. However, understanding Akshay Kumar's wide audience reach, Warsi ultimately supported the choice to cast him, acknowledging that Kumar’s involvement would help the film connect with a larger audience.
Why Arshad Warsi Stepped Away from Jolly LLB 2 Reflecting on his decision to exit the sequel, Warsi stated that he was initially willing to take on the role out of loyalty to director Subhash Kapoor. "I wasn't all happy with the script, but I would have done it because Subhash is a dear friend,” Warsi shared. He added that he advised Kapoor to cast Kumar, saying, “With me, you would get a crowd of 500 people. With him, you will get a crowd of 5000 people.” Teasing Jolly LLB 3: A Return to Humor and Action Discussing Jolly LLB 3, Warsi expressed excitement about reprising his character alongside Kumar, promising audiences a humorous, action-packed experience. The storyline will see both actors returning as their respective characters from the previous films. According to Warsi, the film will deliver the comedy, relevance, and wit that have become the hallmarks of the Jolly LLB series. The Fight Sequence with Akshay Kumar: "One Take Wonder" One of the highlights of Jolly LLB 3 is a long fight sequence between Warsi and Kumar, which the actors completed in a single take. Warsi recalled, "What we've done is insane. We did a fight sequence in one take; of course, I got cut. I was bleeding, but that’s what should happen." Despite the demanding nature of the scene, the actors managed to wrap up the sequence efficiently, showcasing their commitment to the project.
Warsi hinted that Jolly LLB 3 will live up to the franchise’s reputation for entertaining storytelling and humour while being relevant to contemporary audiences. Having said that, it is worth mentioning that filming wrapped in July 2024, fans can look forward to its theatrical release, reportedly slated for April 2025.
